“Father and Sons” features the original Gladiators lead singer Albert Griffith’s two sons, Al and Anthony. Al sings along with his father in most of the songs and makes for some great harmonies. This album is strictly traditional Roots and has a great folk feel to it. There are some nice dub songs with wicked metal sounding washboard scratching that really hits the spot. This album has an old school feel and has lots of great lyrics, like “ the higher the monkey climb, the more he expose” and “jumping for love, jumping for Jah”. The lyrics are full of lessons seemed to be passed down form one generation to another. I love the Father and Sons combo and I would recommend “Father and Sons” to any Roots lover. Respect.
